FAQs
What is the price?
- Focus and Fiesta Drivers pay $120 for the FULL DAY, which is an incredible deal! The normal price to attend an open day at Lime Rock is almost double that much for a half day.
How much track time will I get?
- The short answer is: enough that you'll probably be tired by the end of the day! We run 5 minute sessions with a few cars out at once, and rotate through everyone efficiently. You'll have several of these open sessions and also some officially-timed solo laps. It's far more seat time than a typical autocross event.
Do I need a Helmet?
- No helmet needed, no special safety gear required.
How about dress code?
- No open toed shoes. Shoes with thin soles can be helpful for pedal feel, but totally up to you. Try to avoid baggy-bottomed pants or anything that could get caught up in your pedals when moving around quickly. Otherwise, just dress comfortably.
Can I bring a friend?
-Spectators are free to come along! They can ride shotgun in the car also after you have had a few sessions to get used to the course. If you are really generous, you can share your car with another friend to drive, but he/she will have to sign up and pay as a driver also.
What resources are available at the track?
-Air for tires is available, but remember to bring your own pressure gauge. Gasoline is available, although it's certainly cheaper outside the track. Food is available, and we will have a break for lunch.
How do I prepare my car for the day?
- Check your oil, brake fluid; basic street maintenance. Be sure your brakes are in good working order and your tires aren't more than 5 years old. Other than that, don't stress too much. This is harder than you (should?) drive the car on the street, but nothing even close to the wear and tear of a 'full sized' track day.
- When you get to the track, be ready to throw the driver's floor mat in the hatch or on the floor in the back seat. Anything that can shift around and get in the way of the pedals is no good. Be sure your hatch and seats are all empty of anything that could fly around in hard cornering, braking, etc.
- If you use a smartphone for something like a lap timer or video recording, make sure your mount is REALLY solid.
My friend drives a ____(not ST)_______ - can he/she come too?
- In short, maybe. We want to see as many FoST / FoRS / FiST as possible, and if the spots fill fast, we may run out of room for others. Please have your buddy email us through the contact form, and we will try to include him/her
